Ken wigley Trophy | Scoring the Grover Cup championship-winning goal. | Ken was an integral part of the Abu Dhabi Hockey League and served as a longtime chairman of the executive committee. Renowned for his exceptional organizational skills, Ken played a pivotal role in forming tournament teams that participated in events across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Bangkok, among others. He was also responsible for scheduling the league, serving on the disciplinary committee, and advocating for balanced competition to ensure that all teams could enjoy the game at the highest level. In a memorable season, Ken scored just one goal, but it was a monumental overtime goal that secured his team the championship. At that time, he was the oldest player in the league and one of the oldest to ever find the back of the net. To honor this remarkable achievement and Ken’s legacy, the executive committee decided to establish an annual trophy awarded to the player who secures the championship for their team. This special award celebrates not only individual success but also the spirit of camaraderie that Ken embodied throughout his time in the league. | 2022/23: 2023/24: Abu Dhabi Oryx 2024/25: |
